The Time Garden, Colchester General Hospital

The Brief

To carry out the required landscape/planting work of a specially designed garden for patients who are terminally ill. The garden will be a place for quiet contemplation and peaceful reflection for both patients and their family.

The Challenge

To create the garden in the midst of a very busy general hospital.  The garden was within a courtyard at the hospital which meant that all materials and tools had to be moved with the least possible disruption to the patients and staff.  The organisation of these movements needed to be planned and precise within certain time slots and timescales.
